Creamy Focus

I got my camera out again to casually take photos in the garden.
My No.1 lens to go to is my Nikon 50mm 1.4, which as you can see, gives amazing depth of field.
I'm always for an image that has a shallow focus range, so I always strive for this in my photographs.
As the title shows, I feel that the focus of this lens always gives a smooth, creamy, almost painterly effect; which I think is beautiful, and easy on the eyes.
Oh, I have no idea what these flowers are by the way, but they look great here.

Sunsets

I am pretty much obsessed with the beauty of the sky. From the colours to the shapes of the clouds, I could stare at it forever... and take lots of photos of it for that matter. I always can't help but see the beauty in the world and the nature within it and be amazed.
The photos you can see below are all taken out of our bedroom windrow so the views aren't exactly spectacular... so i'd say just focus on the sky. They were all taken on my iPhone 6 as well - always at hand and the quality is pretty good for a phone.

The first three images were all taken on one night and it was just amazing with how quick the clouds could change shape and colour and look so completely different.

Hope you enjoyed.
I'm going to keep this ongoing and see how many different sunsets I can get from this view as well as my travels.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

COME BACK ANOTHER DAY!

Hey! So I'm pretty sure I'm getting back into the swing of things!
I instantly got motivated when I saw the millions of raindrops on the flowers and leaves in the garden while we were feeding the piggles.... yes that is our name for them both haha.
I know I need to invest in a macro lens because close up nature photography is probably my favourite genre in my spare time.... but, I did the best I could with a kit lens.
I was going to post a few photos here from the session but nothing could match my happiness for how this single photo came out - so here is it is...
I instantly fell in love with it as I took the shot, but putting a black and white filter on the image just made the rain droplets pop out so much I had to leave it at that. I'm just imagining what I could do with a macro lens!

Oh, and about the rain... typical England! Its just been horrendous and I think summer quickly came and disappeared! At least I got this great shot!

9 MONTHS *shocked face*

So it seems I haven't posted since October!! 😱
I know, I know... I don't know what's been going on. I've just been busy with general stuff and working I guess. There has been a motivational lack in the photography department which is quite sad to be honest. The fact that I get knocked down when I want to pursue it as a career has stopped me from loving the passion I once had. I need to get my ass in to gear and sort out what I want to do with my life.

Well, I'll try to update you all on what I've been doing since October...
I went to Florida to all the theme parks with my other half and some friends - it is my happy place and I WISH I was going back soon. Disney and Harry Potter are two of my loves in life!

We finally got a car so we can be more independent and go on trips now, yay!
AND I finally got to get two of my favourite animals ever... GUINEA PIGS! Pippin and Merry are brothers and they're the cutest little fluff balls ever. So we're now full time parents 😜 (I should have done a full post on the to be honest with all the photos I've taken of them).

I just had my 25th birthday, which to tell you the truth is very scary because that is OLDDDDD. But I had a lovely day and time with friends and family back home.

That is pretty much it and I just wanted an update and a bit of motivation for me to start again on here and be much more productive with my photography. Hope you like the photographs I've inputted here - all from my instagram @raychybum

A day at Wisley Gardens

I was invited along by my lovely 'in-laws' to the RHS Wisley Gardens, and oh I have to say how big and beautiful it all is! I'm not a horticulturist or anything so don't expect a post with all the plants names and info ;). I'm just a lover of nature and the beauty of it all, so I thought I'd document some of it. The photographs are rather random and I edited them all in around 5 minutes so don't expect WOW work but I love the chilled atmosphere of it all.
There was this poppy field which looked amazing and it made me desperate to do a fashion shoot in a field like this. The busyness of this photo kinda hurts my head...
Then we found the location of all the herbs and came across a huge patch of all the different mint (including grapefruit mint, banana mint, ginger mint, lemon mint, etc) yeah, I was wowed! But this one here 'chocolate mint', was divine! It smelled just like After Eights <3

This plant was unreal and looked like an alien plant form!
Hope you enjoyed the photos! Couldn't have asked for better weather and a lovely chilled day!

Instagram & Afterlight Love

I've really been loving the whole Afterlight app on my iPhone. I knew it was hyped up but was wondering if it was worth the hype seen as though I have LOTS of editing apps on my phone. It is clear that I love it. It has SO many filters as well as light leaks, dust, etc. and also a wide range of normal photo editing such as contrast. I am really ocd about my instagram and all the photos need to be beautiful in some way and gel together easily... don't ask...
Here are some of my recent posts on there using this editing app. It is totally worth the 69p haha.
